BIOGRAPHY

Never going to art school, Russell is primarily self-taught with a degree in civil engineering from the University of New Hampshire.

After graduating top of his engineering class, Russell began working as an engineer for a Fortune 500 company. But what he really wanted was to spend his days doing the things he wanted to do. He had entrepreneurial aspirations.

He started to enjoy a more laid-back way of life while on vacation in Kauai. He didn’t need to have all the answers. He didn’t need to analyze everything. He didn't need to be so serious about life. All things he was trained to do as an engineer. The island taught him an important lesson: have fun and enjoy the beauty of the world around you.

Russell realized he needed to return to his studio and channel this creative energy. He spent years honing his own painting style, studying, learning, and discovering while working full-time as an engineer.

His mission was to create art that would break your pattern of traditional thought, inspire you to think differently and connect you to the field of creativity where anything is possible.

He had a vision to paint 50 iconic faces on colorful canvases depicting bold, vivid emotion - every portrait telling a unique story.

Started as a passion project in 2007, his paintings now display in hundreds of homes, restaurants, hotels and office spaces around the world.
